    Why Game of the Year? Well it's not just a cynical marketing ploy to separate you from your hard-earned moolah. It's been called Game of the Year (GOTY for those afflicted by acronyms) for a couple of other reasons too…

Firstly, Borderlands is an extraordinarily good game. Fortune favours the brave and Gearbox took some very bold decisions in designing Borderlands. And they paid off big time.

Secondly, over the months following its initial release, Gearbox released some amazing extra content available via download (DLC). There were four of these add-on packs, each of which added new levels, new quests and new enemies to an already huge game. Originally the downloadable content was pay-for i.e. not free, but on the Mac it's all included as part of the GOTY Edition!

So for all those reasons – we don't think it's boasting to call this Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition.
